Page last updated Monday January 09, 2012 The Object of The Clubs' Rescue and Welfare The object of the Club shall be to relieve the suffering and distress of British Shorthair Cats or kittens in need of care, attention or re-homing as a result of ill treatment, hardship, neglect or a change of circumstances. Do we have places where rescue cats are held for people to come and see and choose? No, cats are usually re-homed directly from their owner, except in emergency cases where the cat may have been fostered for a few days in Committee member's private home. How long will I have to wait before being offered a cat or a kitten from Rescue ? It does very as sometimes people on our waiting list are no longer waiting and have not informed us, however all details on our list are carefully registered, it is not a case of first come first served, as we do try to match the cat as close to the prospective owner as possible and according the cats personality. If the prospective owner can be flexible in their chose of colour or age of cat that is also a huge help. How much will I have to pay? In previous years there has been no charge for re-homed/rescue cats, but due to increasing costs the club has now decided that where possible a charge of £20 is made. What happens if things do not work out? We are always there to give help and advice but, in the event of an unhappy situation or a sudden change in circumstances, we will arrange to take the cat back and re-home elsewhere with the knowledge of any problems previously incurred. For all rescue enquires please contact Val Shepherd on 01462 701046 or valtrubrit@btinternet.com We are delighted to show photographs of just some of the beautiful cats successfully rehomed via the Club Rescue
